The Center for Faculty Development and Excellence (CFDE) offers The Classroom Mini Grants program.
A Classroom Mini Grant request can be up to $300 and should be used for an activity directly related to a class you are teaching during the Fall 2014 semester. Anyone currently teaching at Emory is eligible, including graduate students, adjunct faculty, visiting faculty, lecturers, or tenure track faculty. Preference will be given to teachers who have not received past grants and for new course offerings. Only one application per faculty member per semester.
This Fund supports:
1) Honoraria for guest presenters (non-Emory)
2) Food and travel expenses for off campus class visits
3) Classroom materials that may not be covered by regular departmental funds.
We do not fund the purchase of technological hardware (computers, voice recorders, ipads, etc.)
Applicants must either have their own Smartkey account or be connected to a department with a Smartkey account.
To apply, please send a paragraph that describes your need including course number, name, and semester the course is offered to Donna Troka at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, April 25. Please also include your name, department, rank, email address and phone number.
Money will not be transferred until the beginning of the new fiscal year (late August or early September 2014).
