Jareka Dellenbaugh-Dempsey is the graduate assistant for Engaged Learning. In the CFDE she supports faculty in developing and implementing community engaged pedagogies, contributes to assessment practices for tracking community engagement on campus, and collaborates on campus-wide efforts to deepen community engagement and relationships with community partners. Before coming to Emory, Jareka worked at the University of Pennsylvania’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships and is dedicated to combining her experience in community engagement with her academic training after graduate school. Jareka is currently a PhD student in the Emory English department. She researches discourses around divergent bodies in early American literature and culture and teaches courses in First-Year Writing and literature. She holds a B.A. in Individualized Studies from NYU (2012).
