Jareema Hylton

Graduate Assistant Editor of ThoughtWork

Jareema Hylton is the graduate assistant editor for Thoughtwork, the CFDE’s weekly electronic bulletin of emerging knowledge and news in Emory's intellectual community. In this capacity, she also assists Allison Adams with select workshop coordination. She is currently a PhD candidate in the English program and a Centennial Scholars Fellow. As a scholar of early modern English and Spanish literature and culture, her research examines the relationship between travel imaginaries, racial and gendered fears of the foreign, time and space in empire, and discourses of the body in the early Caribbean. Jareema is also an alumna of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship. She holds a B.A. with High Honors in English Literature from Swarthmore College (2016).
