Nov 5: From Extrinsic to Intrinsic Motivation: Ungrading, Labor-Based Grading, Specifications Grading, and Contract Grading
Friday, November 5th, 1:00-2:00pm via Zoom
Join us for a conversation with faculty members from Oxford College, Emory College, and the Business School who use one or more of these grading practices in their courses. Hear how they shifted away from previous grading models, the ups and downs they have encountered in doing so, the responses from their students, and most importantly, their reasons behind their shift to such practices. (Prior to this session, we encourage you to check out Susan Blum's edited volume Ungrading).
- Stacy Bell, Professor of Pedagogy, English, Oxford College
- Wesley Longhofer, Associate Professor, Organization & Management, Goizueta Business School
- Kate McKnelly, Lecturer, Chemistry, Emory College
This panel is a partnership between the CFDE and the Oxford Center for Teaching and Scholarship (OCTS).
