Mar 29: From Extrinsic to Intrinsic Motivation

Continuing the Conversation on Rethinking Grading

Tuesday, March 29, 2022

10:00-11:30am on Zoom

Join us for a continuation of our conversation on ungrading, labor-based grading, specifications grading, and contract grading here at Emory. This time, we'll hear from faculty members from the humanities and the sciences who use one or more of these grading practices in their courses. Hear how they shifted away from previous grading models, the ups and downs they have encountered in doing so, the responses from their students, and most importantly, their reasons behind their shift to such practices.

  • Lydia Fort, Assistant Professor of Theater Studies, Emory College
  • Sara McClintock, Associate Professor of Religion, Emory College
  • Bill Wuest, Professor of Chemistry, Emory College

This panel is a partnership between the CFDE and the Oxford Center for Teaching and Scholarship (OCTS). This discussion will be held via Zoom. The intended audience for this event is faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars.
