Four CFDE Faculty Writing Retreats Announced for 2023-24

Deadline to apply:  Tuesday Sept 5, 2023

The CFDE will again offer four faculty writing retreats in the 2023-24 academic year.  The retreats vary in length and format. All regular, full-time faculty members (both tenure and non-tenure-track) are invited to apply.

The structure of the retreats will be flexible to allow participants to "take what they need" from the experience: long stretches of writing/focus/deep concentration time and little else; work with a writing coach to develop a sustainable and productive writing practice; or focus on building a writing practice within a community of other faculty writers and establish a writing group.  

All participants must also be able to commit to attending the entire retreat. All expenses will be paid except for transportation to and from the retreats.

Space is limited. Preference will be given to applicants who have not yet participated in a CFDE faculty writing retreat. On the application form we ask that you rank your preferences among the four retreats offered. Eligibility is limited to full-time Emory faculty.

The application deadline is Tuesday, Sept 5, 2023. Applicants will be notified of selection status no later than September 13.

Fall Break 2 Night/3 Day Retreat

Spring Break 3 Night/4 Day Retreat

Location: Dahlonega Resort

Dates: Monday Mar 11 – Thursday Mar 14

Early Summer 2 Day Non-Residential Retreat

Location: Legacy Park, Decatur GA

Dates: Wednesday May 15 – Thursday May 16

Late Summer 3 Night/4 Day Retreat

Location: Dahlonega Resort

Dates: Monday Aug 5 – Thursday Aug 8
